Enabling accessibility support

Note: This article is not compatible with Pega Platform™ 8.1 and later.

Accessibility features and controls are enabled through access to the PegaWAI RuleSet. For PRPC V 6.1 and higher, the RuleSet is in the pxWAI RAP, included in the Resource Kit in the distribution of PRPC you installed. Add the RuleSet to the access groups of developers and users needing accessibility features and controls.

To enable access:

  1. In the Production RuleSets section of the Access tab, add the PegaWAIRuleSet to the access groups of developers and users needing accessibility features and controls.
  2. If you have an application built on a release between 5.3 SP1 and 5.4 SP3 that you want to make accessible, it is necessary to use the Revalidate and Save tool to update your existing harness, section, flow action, and list view rules. This process re-generates the HTML to include the additional markup language to support accessibility requirements. From the Tools menu, select the Revalidate and Saveoption for the following rule types:
    • Rule-HTML-Harness
    • Rule-HTML-Section
    • Rule-Obj-FlowAction
    • Rule-Obj-ListView
  • Previous topic Choosing a flow action with a shortcut key
  • Next topic Guidelines and design tips for accessible applications
