Project sizing

Updated on November 15, 2021

Project sizing is a technique for estimating the costs, resources, and time lines that you need to develop an application. By evaluating your project requirements before you begin development, you can help ensure that you deliver your application on time and within budget.

You size a project by entering values in an estimator that has options and formulas that are specific to your implementation methodology.

You can share sizing information with stakeholders by exporting estimates into the .xlsx file.

  • Estimating application development

For more accurate project planning and enhanced communication with your stakeholders, create application development time estimates. When you estimate the duration of your project, you clearly state how much time and effort your development team needs to deliver an application that reflects its specific design and required elements.

  • Sizing an application development project

Estimate the time and effort that you need to build an application to quickly allocate and schedule resources before you begin development.
