Application Profile wizard - Generation

Updated on October 7, 2014

This presentation is part of the Application Profile and Enterprise Application Accelerator Self-Study Course.

Transcript

After you have entered your inputs, you can create the profile document from the Document processing form:

  1. Select the Application Profile template and click Create Proposal Document to launch Word in a separate window.
  2. When the document is displayed, you can review, edit, and save it. When saved, the document is automatically attached to the profile record.
  3. Repeat this process as often as needed to complete your profile.

In the document, notice there is a work type of leave request, as well as the atomic use cases for the leave request.  Each use case becomes a section block within the document.   All supporting information appears as subsections.

The proposal document also contains the boilerplate text for the methodology phases and a timeline, which can be modified based on project sizing.

Click Finish once all data has been entered into the profile and the profile document has been created and attached.  This action completes the process and resolves the profile.

From the resolve screen, you can select:

  • Generate the Application – to open the Enterprise Accelerator to create the application using the profile. When this option is selected, you should no longer update the profile.
  • Reopen Profile– to open the current profile you are working on
  • Package Profile – to display a screen that allows you to enter a RuleSet and Version for a Product Rule that creates a zip file of the application profile for import to another system
  • Close – to close and save the profile

The Application Profile document is based on Microsoft Word templates that will likely be customized to meet individual project and customer needs. The document template is stored as an instance of the class:  PegaAccel-Task-ProposeApp and named ApplicationProfile.
