Decision table for evaluating C86 eligibility

Updated on March 15, 2022

C86 evaluation is only applicable for fraud cases raised on a Canadian-issued credit card. The decision table evaluates C86 eligibility for a dispute created in the Pega Smart Dispute for Issuers application.

Pega Smart Dispute for Issuers

If a dispute is started as non-fraud and then converted to fraud before chargeback submission, then a C86 evaluation is triggered. Evaluation is possible at any stage until chargeback submission.

Note: Bill C86 applies to credit cards issued in Canada. However, there are certain credit card products specific to issuers that do not fall under C86. The decision table is marked as an extension for issuers to add any additional conditions for C86 evaluation specific to any organization.
