Validating case data

Updated on November 22, 2021

Validate the values of properties in a case to help users provide correct information when they create or save a case.

  1. In the navigation pane of App Studio, click Case types, and then click the case type that you want to open.
  2. On the Settings tab, click Validation.
  3. Click the Configure link that is displayed next to the action that you want to validate.
  4. On the Create form, provide the name and version of an unlocked ruleset.

Do not change the default values in the Label or Apply to fields because they are required for rule resolution.

  5. Click Create and open to create the validate rule.
  6. Complete the fields on the Validate form to define the relevant properties and conditions to evaluate and which error messages to display.
  7. Click Save and close the Validate form.
