Formatting a currency question in a questionnaire

Updated on May 11, 2022

Enable users of your application to provide answers that precisely fit their financial business scenarios by creating a question of a currency type. As a result, users can clearly link the number that they provide to the amount of money in a specified currency.

For example, if a customer has an international account, by providing a currency in a question about a daily transactions limit, you help users understand how their answers affect their bank account.
Before you begin: Add a question of a currency type to a question page. For more information, see Adding a question to a question page.
Note: Only applications that you build on Cosmos React support currency questions.
  1. Navigate to the questionnaire:
    ChoicesActions
Open the questionnaire in App Studio
    1. In the navigation pane of App Studio, click Case types.
    2. In the list of case types, open a case type of the Questionnaire type that you want to edit.
Open the questionnaire in Dev Studio
    1. In the header of Dev Studio, click ConfigureCase ManagementQuestionnaire.

    ActionsChoices
    Enter the currency manually
    1. In the ISO code selection list, select Constant.
    2. In the Currency ISO code, enter the currency code.
For example: To display a question that captures the amount of US dollars, enter USD.
Source the currency from a property
    1. In the ISO code selection list, select Property Reference.
    2. In the Currency ISO code list, select a property that stores the currency that you want to use.
  5. To enable users to provide more precise answers, select the Allow decimals check box.
Result: At run time, users can provide answers that include decimals.
  6. Click Save.
For example: The following figure shows a sample currency question about a daily limit on financial transactions with an answer that includes a decimal:
