Simulating a conversation and building a chatbot

Updated on July 22, 2021

Before moving Pega Intelligent Virtual Assistant™ (IVA) to a production environment, you can verify whether the system works correctly by interacting with the chatbot using the preview console. You use the preview console to simulate a conversation for your business application and build the chatbot, to ensure that the chatbot knows how to correctly respond and detect information from user input.

Working in the preview console also improves the text analysis and artificial intelligence of the IVA channel. After making any changes to the channel configuration in the preview console, rebuild the text analytics model.
Before you begin: For each IVA that you create, define the conversational channel behavior. For more information, see Defining conversational channel behavior.
  1. Verify the detected information by the chatbot.
For more information, see Verifying chatbot responses.
  2. Update the chatbot questions and response text.
For more information, see Modifying chatbot response questions.
  3. Extract data from a conversation.
  4. Apply any simulation changes to the text analytics model.
