8.5 product changes with update impacts
New built-on applications for release 8.5After an update, to adopt the new 8.5 features, you must change your built-on application to the new 8.5 built-on application. For Pega Sales Automation, the 8.5 built-on application includes the Cosmos design system. To determine whether your Pega Sales Automation application is ready to use the Cosmos design system, see Adopting the Pega Cosmos design system. For information about how to change your built-on application, see "Updating your built-on application" in the Pega Customer Service and Pega Sales Automation 8.5 Update Guideon the Pega Customer Service product page. |
Deprecated service case typesTo reduce the Pega Customer Service footprint and remove unused cases and their associated rulesets, a number of non-required service cases and their associated rules have been deprecated. The rules have been marked as deprecated but remain functional in the 8.5 release. For details, see the Pega Customer Service 8.5 Release Notes on the Pega Customer Service product page. |
Additional security prevents unauthorized accessSecurity enhancements on several rules require that an operator have new privileges to access the rules. Without the new privileges, an operator cannot access the rules required to run the application. After you update, ensure that your access roles have the required privileges to access the secured rules. For information, see the Pega Customer Service and Pega Sales Automation 8.5 Update Guide on the the Pega Customer Service product page. |
Pega Customer ServiceYou must use the Interaction Portal that was introduced in Pega Customer Service 7. CPM/CSR legacy portals are no longer supported and do not function in this version. Before upgrading to the latest version of Pega Platform, drop triggers because SQL database triggers are no longer supported. |
