Cannot connect to REST endpoint

Updated on April 6, 2022

Troubleshoot problems with REST connectivity by validating the REST endpoint.

Condition

You might see java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused in the log file.

Cause

The client firewall security is blocking the outgoing request.

Resolving issues with REST network connectivity

  • Confirm that you are using the correct port for the correct protocol.
  • Validate that you can reach the endpoint by using telnet, cURL, or Postman.
  • If you can reach the endpoint outside of Pega Platform, determine whether the external system firewall is causing the issue.
