FTP Server data instances

Updated on April 6, 2022

Define an FTP Server data instance to allow your application to act as a File Transfer Protocol client, copying files from one server or file system to a remote FTP server.

To copy a file using FTP, SSH FTP (SFTP), or FTP Secure (FTPS), define an FTP server data instance and then call the Connect-FTP method in an activity. For more information, see Transferring files from a Pega server to an SFTP server.

Access

After you define FTP Server data instances, they are available to all applications. Use the Records Explorer to list the FTP server data instances on your system.

Class

The Data-Admin-Connect-FTPServer class contains FTP Server data instances. This class is part of the Integration-Resources category.

  • Creating an FTP Server data instance

Create a new FTP server data instance and configure the information that Pega Platform uses to find and log into an external FTP server.

  • Modifying FTP server timeout

Pega Platform provides an application setting that you can use to configure the timeout value for your FTP server. The application setting defines the amount of time in which Pega Platform attempts to connect to a remote FTP server before a timeout occurs. The default value is 20000 milliseconds.
