Integrating DocuSign with Pega Platform

Updated on April 6, 2022

Integrate DocuSign digital signature capabilities with your application to significantly reduce operational costs and provide your customers with a faster and more convenient way of signing and sending transactional documents.

By processing documents electronically, you can eliminate the need to manually print, sign, and scan documents back into your system while making use of the following key DocuSign benefits:

  • Incorporate digital signatures into Pega flows through a dedicated smart shape
  • Generate signing requests through the DocuSign API
  • Check whether a document has been viewed or signed
  • View signed documents and the associated PDF certificate of completion

The following example shows how Pega seamlessly embeds DocuSign technology to quickly and securely capture signatures digitally, and therefore speed up case management processing:

After installing the DocuSign component in Pega, you can integrate document processing with a case type through a dedicated SmartShape. This shape initiates document processing through a REST service that DocuSign calls for any event that is associated with the document, for example, when the recipient signs or rejects a document. The service also attaches processed documents to a case.

By integrating the DocuSign digital signature technology with a Pega application, a customer service representative in a financial services company can quickly process a credit card application within a single call, as opposed to the conventional method of sending, signing, and completing the application that might take multiple days.

Note: Pega Platform supports the following versions of the DocuSign eSignature API:v2.0v2.1
What to do next: Integrate DocuSign with your application by completing the following tasks:

  • Next topic Updating your application to use the DocuSign API version 2.1
