The ADM node fails to join the Cassandra cluster

Updated on March 11, 2021

Adding the Adaptive Decision Manager (ADM) node is part of configuring Decisioning services. If the node fails to join the Pega Platform nodes, you cannot use the adaptive model functionality.

Cause

Different technical issues can cause the failure.

Solution

  1. In the header of Dev Studio, click ConfigureDecisioningInfrastructureServicesAdaptive Decision Manager.
  2. Click the name of the node that failed to view the node details.
  3. Read the error message.
  4. Click View stack trace to view the log file and debug the failure.
    ADM node failure
The error message in the log file says the DDS service is configured to run, but none of the nodes are running.
