Rules are not available for selection in the Application Overlay wizard

Updated on March 11, 2021

In the Rules step of the Application Overlay wizard, you scroll down the list with all the rules that are available for revision management, but you do not see some of your rules.

Cause

In the Rules step of the Application Overlay wizard, the rules are retrieved from the current application's ruleset stack by a report definition. This report definition is configured to retrieve a maximum of 500 records. If there are more than 500 rule instances, they are not retrieved. Additionally, the rule instances that are in the application's branch rulesets are not retrieved.

The first time that you scroll the list of rules, scroll slowly because the rules are loaded progressively. If your rules are not loaded, ask a system architect for help.

Solution

System architect
  • Increase the Maximum number of rows to retrieve in the Data Access tab of the Data-Rule-Summary.pyGetApplicationSpecificDistinctRules report definition.
    For more information, see Reporting.
  • Open the application and verify that the branches are being added to the application and that the rules are in the branches. Merge the branches with the application rulesets.
