Stream service nodes fail on IBM WebSphere Application Server 8.5

Updated on March 11, 2021

When you host a Pega Platform instance on IBM WebSphere Application Server 8.5 with the default settings, the Stream service nodes fail.

Cause

By default, IBM WebSphere Application Server 8.5 uses the Java 6.0 SDK, but the Stream service requires the Java 7.0 SDK.

Solution

  1. Switch the Java SDK version on your IBM WebSphere Application Server 8.5 to Java 7.0.

For more information, see Switching to Java 7.0 SDK in WebSphere Application Server in the IBM Knowledge Center documentation and Install Pega Platform.
