Configuring the Decision Data Store service

Updated on May 17, 2024

This content applies only to On-premises and Client-managed cloud environments

Store decision management data in a backing database, such as Cassandra, and manage the cluster by configuring the Decision Data Store (DDS) service. Examples of decision management data include customer data, decision results, and input data for adaptive and predictive models.

To configure the Decision Data Store service, connect to an external Cassandra database.

Starting in Pega Platform version 8.6, the use of an internal Cassandra database is deprecated. On-premises and client-managed cloud systems that have been updated from earlier versions of Pega Platform can continue to use Cassandra in embedded mode. However, to ensure future compatibility, do not create any new environments using embedded Cassandra.

To learn more about deployment options for Cassandra, see Cassandra overview.
