How to modify Application Developer help and SMA URI's after installation

Updated on August 28, 2019

Summary

If you want to change the host name in a URI after installation, follow the procedure below.

Suggested Approach

To change the Application Developer Help system URI:

  1. From the Rules by Type explorer tab in the navigation panel, select SysAdmin > Dynamic System Settings.
  2. Select the ProComHelpURI instance from the list.

    1. Edit the host name in the URI and save the rule. For example, the special value “localhost” is valid if the Help system application is deployed on each node. If your system grows to contain a cluster with two nodes ALPHA and BETA but the help application is deployed only on ALPHA, change the Value field to reference ALPHA.

Example:

 http://ALPHA:8888/prhelp

Similarly, to change the SMA system URI:

  1. Access the Rules by Type explorer tab in the navigation panel and select SysAdmin > Dynamic System Settings.

  2. Select the SystemManagementURI instance from the list of settings.

  1. Edit the host name in the URI and save the rule.

Changes to Dynamic System Settings data instances ordinarily take effect the next time the node is started.
