Issue: Scan Station tool requires Windows 2000 workstation

Updated on May 7, 2019

Symptom

Scanning a document into Process Commander (that is, using a scanner and the Scan Station tool to scan a document and add it to a work item as an attachment) does not work with a Microsoft Windows XP workstation.  When you trying to scan a document, Internet Explorer may hang.

Solution

Resolution

This is an issue with Windows XP. (Windows 2000 uses different image software, and scanning works in that version of Windows.)

To use scanning capability when you're running Windows XP, you can use Microsoft Paint as an option for scanning.  Attach the scanned image or document into Process Commander as a .tif file.
