Pega-specific references

Updated on January 21, 2021

This section contains information about writing about Pega-specific ideas.

  • Rule vs record

Pega Platform contains two distinct types of objects, rules and data instances, yet we commonly refer to them both as rules.

  • References to a rule by name

When referring to an instance of a rule or a rule category, it is not necessary to include the word rule or the fully qualified class name. Use the common name instead.

  • Referring to Dev Studio menus

To create consistent documentation and facilitate localization of different menu elements for the user, follow these guidelines and examples of references to the menus and other items in Dev Studio.

  • Trademarking and copyright rules

Use the following guidelines for trademarking product and company names in our documentation and other content.
