Selecting a specific client version
When you build a mobile app for the Android or the iOS platform from the Channels and interfaces form, you can select a specific version of the client, for example, to avoid compatibility issues with the devices that are used in your organization, or to test unreleased functionality offered by future releases of the client.
You can select between Pega Mobile Client that supports
offline-enabled apps, JavaScript APIs and custom modules, and various versions of Pega
Infinity Mobile Client: Preview, which is the default version, and
Snapshot, which is an experimental version that may provide extended
functionality at the expense of stability. You can also specify an exact build version number
of the client that you want to use as the basis for your mobile app.
- Optional: If you want to build a mobile app based on the same version of the client as the
current mobile app, determine which version of the client was used to build the current
mobile app:
- Install the mobile app on the device.
- In the mobile app, click .
- Note down the Pega Mobile Client version number.
- In Dev Studio, click the name of your application, and then click Channels and interfaces.
- In the Explorer panel, click Interfaces.
- In the Current channel interfaces section, click a mobile app icon.
- In the Build your application panel, turn on the switch for iOS or Android, and expand the Release channels section.
- Select the Enforce specific mobile client version check box.
- In the Choose a type of client version field, select a client version. Select Other to set the exact numeric version of the client.
- Click Save.
