Question
Answer
Q-01: Are these features available in V5.3?A-01: No, these features are specific to V5.4.
Q-02: Will this demo be made available online once the webinar is complete? More specifically - will how Mark is creating the index, etc be detailed in what's available after the demo?A-02: Yes, the recorded webinar will be available on PDN within a few days. The features being demonstrated are currently documented with examples on PDN.
Q-03: Are other chart types available? How much can you customize these?A-03: Yes there are several chart types available. This is available on the charts tab on summary view rule types. You can configure interactive charts and choose from several chart types.
Q-04: For the secondary summary report parameter, does it have to create under a certain class?A-04: It needs to belong to the same class. You pass the parameter from the first summary view to the second to filter the second report on that parameter (or property).
Q-05: By default, Pega fetches 10,000 records. What if I need to fetch more than 20,000 records? How do we handle the performance issue in this scenario?A-05: Your best reference here would be to see KB 25054 - How to set size and time reporting limits for reports.
Q-06: Can we add multiple Drilldown To options?A-06: Yes you can drill down to multiple summary views and at the end of your drill down to a listview.
Q-07: Can you enter criteria to filter these reports? For example, what if I just want a report for Engineering? I think you just went over that, but could you send us some info to reiterate?A-07: Yes you can enter criteria. In the first summary view you can enter any criteria you'd like. When drilling down to a second summary view the criteria needs to be the parameter passed from the first summary view. This is documented on the PDN.
Q-08: What's the meaning of the "rules is dirty" message?A-08: The "Property Panel is dirty" message is displayed when you have made a change on a property panel, and then try to save a rule, without clicking "OK" or "Apply" on the cell property panel. Clicking OK on the "Property Panel is dirty" dialogue box saves the changes to the property, but not the rule. You will need to save the rule once more.
Q-09: Is there any performance overhead caused by adding multiple summary views?A-09: No. Because the only information being passed from summary view to summary view is a parameter, there is no performance overhead.
Q-10: Is the report wizard being updated to handle new features?A-10: We're constantly looking to improve the Report Wizard and we'd welcome your feedback via Email to us either [email protected] or [email protected].
Q-11: One of the things that I have found in V5.2 is that if there are too many records, you will get a break down of vendors for example and then a cat. called OTHER. That will happen in both list and graph.A-11: This same behavior exists in V5.4.
Q-12: If you create multiple summary levels on a report - when you export to MS Excel, can you set the report to only export one of the summary levels instead of all the data in all of the drill down levels?A-12: The export to Excel will export the current window. Currently there is no option to specify a given summary level (group by). You can export either the summary view or the detailed view.
Q-13: How can I avoid the rows in the list view been displayed in the background of the headers when the headers are fixed?A-13: The fixed header feature was introduced in V5.3. This is the current behavior. We will enter this as enhancement on your behalf. Thank you.
Q-14: Does PRPC V5.4 give users the ability to page listproperty in a report?A-14: The ability to report on properties within a page list was added in V5.4. This can be done by first indexing the properties, and then Joining the report to that index. For more information, please see the presentation.
Q-15: How does Export to Excel in report for page list properties in a list view? If you export the report to Excel the properties are included. As far as I know Page list values are not supported in reports - Was that added in PRPC V5.4? AFAIK, Export to Excel supports only single values.A-15: The ability to report on properties within a page list was indeed added in V5.4. This can be done by first indexing the properties, and then Joining the report to that index. For more information, please see the presentation. On a list view(and Excel sheet) these will be displayed as single value properties.
