Editing dynamic layouts with Live UI
To edit the contents and the order of items in a dynamic layout, use the Live UI contextual menu to click and drag elements within the dynamic layout.
Before you can edit elements using Live UI, follow the steps of Enabling run-time branching and editing in your application.
Adding an element inside a dynamic layout
- Select the dynamic layout into which you want to add an element.
- Click the See available actions icon to open the edit sub-menu.
- Under the Add element... heading, click inside. The menu of available elements opens.
- Select the element you want to add in the dynamic layout.
Moving an element within a dynamic layout
Elements may be moved within a dynamic layout by clicking and dragging within the hierarchy. When an element is moved to a location where it can be dropped, the red x becomes a green check mark.
Moving between dynamic layouts is done the same way. Click and drag the element from one dynamic layout and place it on the name tab of the destination dynamic layout. The green check mark displays and the element can be dropped into the dynamic layout.
Deleting an element from a dynamic layout
Click the See available actions icon to open the edit sub-menu. Select Delete from the menu. To undo a delete, you need to add the deleted element again.
