What's new in DevOps and automated testing 8.7
Key DevOps enhancements in this release of Pega Platform include support for test coverage reports providing metrics for the application rules that are invoked when running queue processors and file processors.
Role-specific scenario testing
For comprehensive and more efficient testing, you can now create scenario tests that are specific for different access groups in your application. For example, you can associate a scenario test with a manager access role, and record actions that are available only for managers. Then, in the list of test cases in your application, you can run test cases that are relevant to all access groups that your operator includes. As a result, if you have access groups of a manager and a worker, you can create and run both test cases specific to a manager and a worker, without logging out and in as different users.
The following figure shows a list of test cases created for different access groups that a current operator includes:
For more information, see Creating scenario tests.
Test coverage support for activities that are not associated with operators
Test coverage reports now include metrics for the application rules that are invoked when running queue processors and file processors. With these new metrics, you can capture more accurate test coverage statistics for your applications.
Deployment Manager issue on Pega Platform version 8.7
In Kubernetes infrastructure, Deployment Manager deployments on Pega Platform version 8.7 fail with NullPointerException. If you manage releases through Deployment Manager, do not update Pega Platform to version 8.7.
