What is the Update Manager utility?

Updated on March 23, 2020

The Update Manager consists of two tools, the Hotfix Installer and the System Scanner. Integrated into the Designer Studio in PRPC 6.x, these tools enable administrators of PRPC to perform the following actions:

  • Install hotfixes from a download package (DL).
  • Download the latest catalog of hotfixes from the PDN.
  • Scan the system to view which hotfixes are currently installed or partially installed.
  • Display hotfix details — the contents of the hotfix (rules, code modules), referred to as the manifest.

Hotfix Installer

Use the Hotfix Installer to open and install a DL file that contains one or more hotfixes.

To start the Hotfix Installer, from the Pega button Pega button, click System > Tools > Update Manager > Hotfix Installer.

System Scanner

Use the System Scanner to find and list the hotfixes that are currently installed on your system.

To start the System Scanner, from the Pega button Pega button, click System > Tools > Update Manager > System Scanner.

For More Information

In Process Commander 6.x, context-sensitive Help topics are available for the Hotfix Installer and the System Scanner.
