Payment Exception Recovery Product Overview

Updated on June 22, 2022

Pega Smart Dispute for Issuers currently supports disputes pertaining to Visa, Mastercard, AMEX associations along with ACH disputes.

Pega Foundation for Healthcare

Many issuing banks are supporting other payment networks such as Faster Payments in the UK, NPP in Australia, EFTPOS, JCB, Zelle, and Venmo and process these exceptions in different ways. Exceptions for these networks are either managed outside Pega Smart Dispute for Issuers or a new implementation in Pega Smart Dispute which involves significant time and effort. The Payment Exception Recovery feature is positioned to address this challenge.

Payment Exception Recovery is a model workflow designed for issuer banks as a generic dispute and fraud processing flow to handle digital payments. It is an agile solution to rapidly resolve customer payment exception inquiries. The flows are generic and have been developed to leverage common exception processes that can be extended for any case type including plastic, non-plastic, and crypto payments.

Payment Exception Recovery can be either installed as a standalone component from Pega Marketplace or can be used along with Pega Smart Dispute for Issuers 8.7, enabling clients the usage of the existing capabilities of the Smart Dispute product along with the Payment Exception Recovery model workflow.

The Payment Exception Recovery model workflow can be leveraged by customers for disputes or fraud processing across the scope of their payment activities. Clients can add new payment types in a short period using Payment Exception Recovery. As a result, they will benefit from the time and cost savings that come from rapid expansion to their processing needs.
