Enabling ADDP tracing

Advanced Disconnection Detection Protocol (ADDP) is a network heartbeat mechanism created by Genesys that detects issues with TCP/IP connections and provides quicker detection of network interruptions.

Enable ADDP tracing in addition to standard SDK tracing if you want the logs for your Genesys Engage Platform SDK links to also include ADDP information.
Note: This feature applies to Genesys Engage Platform SDK links.
For more information about ADDP, refer to the Genesys computer telephony integration (CTI) documentation.

  1. In the header of Dev Studio, click ConfigureChannel ServicesPega CallAdministration and Configuration.
  2. On the CTI Links tab, in the Actions list in the row of the CTI link for which you want to enable ADDP tracing, click Edit.
  3. On the Advanced tab, in the Genesys ADDP section, select the Enabled check box.
  4. In the Timeout(s) field, specify the time in seconds after which an ADDP message is sent to the T-Server to confirm that the connection is active.
  5. In the Remote Timeout(s) field, specify the time in seconds for the T-Server to respond to an ADDP message to confirm that a network connection is active.
    If this timeout is exceeded, the network connection closes, and the system attempts to reconnect. This value should be two or three times the Timeout(s) value.
  6. In the ADDP Trace field, enable or disable ADDP tracing:
    1. To turn off ADDP tracing, in the ADDP Trace field, enable or disable ADDP tracing, select Off.
      This option is the default setting for the ADDP tracing field.
    2. To turn on ADDP tracing on the Pega Platform server but not on the Genesys server, in the ADDP Trace field, select On, and then configure tracing on Genesys SDK.

    3. To turn on ADDP tracing on both the Pega Platform server and the Genesys server, in the ADDP Trace field, select Both, and then configure tracing on Genesys SDK.

  7. Confirm your updates by clicking Save.
Result: Your changes take effect the next time you restart the CTI link.
