Integrating an application with an external product catalog

Pega Configure Price Quote for Communications is built on and integrated with Product Catalog for Communications to retrieve product offers and related data.

Before you begin:

To integrate your Pega Configure Price Quote for Communications application with an external catalog, complete the following steps:

  1. Change the source of the following data pages to the external catalog location:

    • D_OMProductCatalogList
    • D_OMProdOfferListBasic
    • D_OMProductOfferingBundleFull
    • D_OMProductOfferingFull
    • D_OMProductOfferingListBasic
    • D_OMProductSpecFull

    See Data page rules – Using the Definition tab.

  2. Update the data mapping for the data pages that you modified in step 1. See Data Transform form – Append and Map to action.

Note: You do not need to change the Application layer or Data layer, because all processes, screens, and data structures in the Pega Configure Price Quote for Communications application remain the same, and only the data is obtained from an external source.
