Enabling the migration of historical data for Scenario Planner

Updated on August 3, 2022

Automate your migration process for Scenario Planner historical data by using Deployment Manager pipelines. The automated process migrates the ScenarioPlannerActuals data set from a Production environment into a Business Operations environment.

Scenario Planner allows marketers to review summarized historical activity from Interaction History (actuals) against projected reach (simulated). The ScenarioPlannerActuals data set must be migrated from production to your simulation environment to enable this feature.

Pega Customer Decision Hub Implementation Guide
Before you begin: We recommend using Deployment Manager pipelines to automate the migration process for ScenarioPlannerActuals. If your Pega Customer Decision Hub application is hosted on Pega Cloud and you have a Business Operations environment, all the required configuration is done for you by the Pega team. If your application is hosted on premises, or on a cloud system other than Pega Cloud, do the following steps to enable Deployment Manager pipelines:
After the Deployment Manager migration pipeline has been set up, do the following steps to enable the ScenarioPlanner migration process:
  1. Log in to your Production environment as an operator in the <your implementation application>:CDHAdmins access group.
  2. In Dev Studio, click RecordsSysAdminDynamic System Settings.
  3. Configure the following dynamic system settings:
    CDHMigrateScenarioPlannerActuals
Enables or disables migrating scenario planner data as part of the data migration pipeline. Set the value to true to enable the migration.
    MKTScenarioPlanning/NoOfDaysDataToMigrate
Specifies the number of days to be accounted for when copying data from the Actuals data set to the ScenarioPlannerActuals data set. Before changing this setting, ensure that your simulation environment is adequately sized to handle the additional data volume.
    MKTScenarioPlanning/SAPopulateWaitInterval
Specifies the wait time in seconds before continuing the export of the simulation actuals to a file data set.
