Running the Pega Customer Decision Hub setup wizard
Automate the initial steps in creating your Pega Customer Decision Hub implementation application by using the Pega Customer Decision Hub setup wizard. Preconfigure your application using best-practice industry templates and set up the Pega 1:1 Operations Manager application for change management.
When you run the Pega Customer Decision Hub setup wizard, you configure the following components and settings:
- Next-Best-Action Designer configuration, supporting standard business issues
- Data model for your customer class and context dictionary
- Change management, including the Pega 1:1 Operations Manager application
- Repository for exporting interactions and decisions
- Organization name
When you run the Pega Customer Decision Hub setup wizard, you can skip the steps that configure the Next-Best-Action Designer, data model, and repository. However, you need to complete these configuration steps manually later. To save time and effort, it is recommended to configure these components through the Pega Customer Decision Hub setup wizard.
- Log in to Dev Studio as the system architect operator in the CDHTemplate:CDHInstall access group.
- In the Choose your industry to start the application setup
step, perform one of the following actions:
- To use a best practice template for your industry, select one of the industry tiles, for example, Communications or Financial services.
- If a template for your industry is not available or you want to define the data model and Next-Best-Action Designer configuration manually, click Other.
- If you selected Other, perform the following
actions:
- In the Data model configuration step, upload the
xCAR data model for your industry from the Pega Marketplace or your own data model, and
then click Next.You can skip this step, and then configure the data model later.
- In the Next-Best-Action Designer configuration
step, upload a template from the Pega Marketplace or your own template, and
then click Next.You can skip this step, and then configure the Next-Best-Action Designer later. This wizard section is not displayed if you skipped the data model configuration in step 3.a.
- In the Enable change management step, review the information, and then click Next.
- In the Data model configuration step, upload the
xCAR data model for your industry from the Pega Marketplace or your own data model, and
then click Next.
- In the Select a repository field, select a decision
repository to store exported interactions and decisions.
- Click Next.
- In the What's your organization name field, enter or
select the name of your organization, and then click
Next.The organization name is used to properly name artifacts in your Pega Customer Decision Hub application.
- In the Review your configuration step, review your
configuration before starting the process to set up your Pega Customer Decision Hub application.
In the following example, the configuration includes the Retail Banking template, which provides a best-practice data model and Next-Best-Action Designer template for financial services. The decision repository and the organization name are also selected.
- Click Start.
- After the setup process is completed, in the Setup
completed step, click Download log, and
then review the configuration steps completed by the Pega Customer Decision Hub setup wizard.The green bar in the Setup completed step of the wizard indicates successful setup.
- If a failure occurs during the setup process, resolve the issue, and then rerun
the setup wizard:
- Click Download log, and then review the information about the failure.
- Ask the system administrator to resolve the failure.
- After the failure is resolved, log in to the application again as the system architect operator in the CDHTemplate:CDHInstall access group.
- Click Open Customer Decision Hub.
- In the Pega Customer Decision Hub portal, perform the following
actions:
- Review the data model for your customer class and context dictionary.
- Review the Next-Best-Action Designer configuration.
- Verify access to Revision Manager.
- Verify access to the Pega 1:1 Operations Manager application.
