Managing data and integration

Updated on March 16, 2021

Use data integration to connect your application with an external data source (system of record - SOR). Data integration includes sending and retrieving information between the two systems. Sending information to the external system results in creating, updating, or deleting information within that system.

Pega Customer Service Implementation Guide
Before you begin:
  1. Create an implementation application.

You must have an implementation application set up to ensure that the basic functionality is present before creating an integration. For more information, see Creating your Pega Customer Service implementation application.

  2. Configure application settings.

For more information, see Configuring application settings.

  3. Set up the security model and organization structure.

For more information, see Setting up organization and users.

This example scenario assumes that you already have interfaces and a service set up. It describes creating the REST connector to retrieve contact details. In order to retrieve other types of data, for example, account details, you must repeat the process. For more information about other integration types, see Data Integration.
