Pega Knowledge 8.5 enhancements

Updated on April 16, 2021

Pega Knowledge 8.5 includes the product enhancements that are described in this section.

Pega Customer Service Release Notes
FeatureDescription
Add access role-based snippets

Pega Knowledge authors can now set the visibility of a snippet based on one or more access roles. Snippets give authors the ability to reuse specific pieces of text in multiple articles, for example, as a reoccurring paragraph that describes terms and conditions, or other common terms and phrases. When you create the snippet, you can (optionally) associate it with one or more access roles; only users with the selected access roles can see that specific snippet text. Access role-based snippets allow you create a single article with multiple paragraphs, sections or lines of text that support many different groups by region or line of business, without the need to create multiple documents.

Within a snippet, authors can also view and quickly access the list of articles that are referencing the snippet.

For more information, see Snippets in the Pega Knowledge User Guide on the Pega Knowledge product page.

Add comments to archived articles

Authors can now add a comment to describe the reason an article is being archived. When you select the Archive content option, the confirmation dialog box now includes a Comments section where you can enter the reason for archiving the article. When you open an archived article, the comments are visible at the top of the article. This enhancement supports the ability to track the archival history of articles.

For more information, see Archiving content in the Pega Knowledge User Guide on the Pega Knowledge product page.

New Pega Knowledge report

A new report, Content with Pending Reviews, shows the articles that are due for a scheduled periodic review, sorted by day and month. You can select the beginning and ending dates for which to create the report, and open and review articles using the link provided in the report. This report gives authors visibility into the number of articles that are due for review in a given month.

For a complete list of Pega Knowledge reports, see Pega Knowledge Reports on the Pega Knowledge product page.
