Building the mobile app

Updated on October 6, 2020

Build the mobile app for the field workers, to view their assigned work orders and perform their work in the field.

  1. Based on the requirements, build your mobile app on the implementation application as described in Developing mobile apps.

Refer the settings of the default mobile apps Field Service or Route Service. For more information, see the Installation Guide on the Pega Field Service product page.

  2. In the header of Dev Studio, click the name of the application, and then click Channels and interfaces.

  3. In the Current channel interfaces section, click the tile that represents a mobile channel for your app.

  4. On the Configuration tab, click the Offline category.

  5. In the Configure offline resources section, to build a mobile app, select FSMDefault resource in the Select offline resource list.

This resource contains the necessary building blocks for the mobile app.

  6. Convert your application into a mobile app that field workers can install on their mobile devices as described in Generating installation packages.

You can generate both Android and iOS apps, which helps you meet the needs of a wide array of mobile users.
