Pega Foundation for Communications Product Overview

Case typeDescription
Product catalogDefines a repository of product offers that are defined by the Product Manager. This entity defines information about Business Line, Type of Catalog, Start Date, End Date, Status, and Geographic Area.
Product specificationDefines the technical aspects of a product and is utilized by product offers. You can define atomic and composite product specifications. This entity includes details such as Business Line, Product Line, Product Category, Brand, Lifecycle Status, and cost to the business. This entity manages Terms & Conditions, Media Content, Compatibility Rules, and Product Configurations. You can define complex compatibility rules for product specifications. It also captures cardinality and relationships among child specifications for composite product specification.
Product offeringDefines commercial information pertaining to a product, including Start Date, End Date, Contract Terms, Status, Offer Type, Distribution Channels, add-ons, Pricing, and Pricing Policies.
Composite priceCaptures pricing information (such as non-recurring charges, Monthly recurring charges, Delivery Intervals, discounts, and fees) and eligibility rules that are associated with a product offer/bundle/product specification.
Pricing policy ruleDefines various pricing scenarios and actions by using parameters such as price, quantity, and customer category. Consuming applications, such as Pega Configure Price Quote for Communications, read the pricing policies that are associated with product offers to provide discounts for a quote.
