Drug Data Management
In this release, the Foundation for Healthcare has created the capability to support prescription drug, formulary, and benefits. The following enhancements have been provided.
Pega Foundation for Healthcare
Release Notes
- Created new prescription drug and formulary data model. Pega Foundation for Healthcare has created a new prescription drug plan data model that adds to the current data classes for common objects, and that references CMS’ format for Medicare prescription drug plans. By leveraging this new industry-standard data model, the user will be able to create and maintain prescription drug plans and benefits, facilitate SERF filings, and support a number of prescription drug and formulary-related business use cases. In addition to the prescription drug data model, the Foundation supports the creation of PDF drug formulary documents, based on the attributes held in the formulary data object. For more information see the 8.7 Pega Foundation for Healthcare Implementation Guide.
- Re-location of the RxNorm ruleset. In the previous release, Pega Foundation for Healthcare created a new portal entitled Drug Data Store, which housed the newly adopted RxNorm database and search capability. In this release, the RxNorm ruleset has been moved out of the Drug Data Store, and into the Pega Foundation for Healthcare core layer in order to enable better access to RxNorm drug data by consuming applications (e.g., Pega Care Management), and the incorporation of that data into drug-related features (e.g., Medication Therapy Management).
