Step 3: Integrating with Microsoft Outlook for scheduling appointments

Updated on September 18, 2020

This feature is being deprecated in 8.5 release as Microsoft announced end of support for Basic authentication access to Exchange online API’s for office 365 customers. We shall come up with a new component with enhanced features in upcoming release.

Pega Foundation for Healthcare has real-time integration with Microsoft Exchange, allowing a user to create a new Appointment in the application, and synchronize the appointment to Exchange.

All operators, members, and practitioners that an operator has read access to can be added to an Appointment as an attendee. There is also a search that allows finding the resources by any combination of name and email.

Users can create, update, cancel the appointment, and also get the availability of the attendees/participants. Subsequent updates can also be made to the appointment on Exchange using Outlook.

You can use the following data pages, the source of which is a SOAP connector, to handle the appointment scheduling feature.
