Work parties

Updated on January 18, 2022

Work party rules define which participants (roles) can be associated with a work object. Each work object can contain many roles in addition to the required originator role. Some roles may participate with multiple occurrences. This rule also controls how and whether users can add parties using the user forms.

The PegaInsure layer (ruleset) uses the “Default” work party rule to configure work parties for various insurance processes. You can open the Default rule in the class of interest to see how the work parties have been configured for the class.

For example, the preconfigured work parties for the Commercial Application process are:
  • Applicant
  • Originator
  • Policyholder
  • AuthorizedParty
  • Broker
  • Underwriter
  • Interested
  • Agency

The Pega Foundation for Insurance includes example work party rules for personal lines, commercial lines, and individual and group application cases. These also provide backward compatibility for the pre 7.1 functionality of the Pega Foundation for Insurance.
