Viewing error logs in the Pega Process Fabric Hub

Updated on November 9, 2021

To ensure that users can process their work, fix any issues that might hinder the Pega Process Fabric Hub from fetching assignments from your applications. You can quickly identify any issues by viewing and analyzing the log messages.

For example, you can learn that an assignment does not have correct routing settings and that you need to specify the worklist that receives the task.
Before you begin: You need to have a PPF:Administrators or PPF:Configurators access group to view error logs. For more information, see Defining operator contact information and application access.

The Error logs page lists the errors that occur when an application publishes data to the Pega Process Fabric Hub in an incorrect way. You can quickly determine in which assignment, case type, or application an error occurred. First, you can get a quick overview of the issue by analyzing a short description of the issue in the Error column, and you can then view the JSON of the error log to identify the request that the Pega Process Fabric Hub received. When you know what causes the issue, you can log in to the relevant application to fix the problem by making the required changes, so that the users who process assignments in the Pega Process Fabric Hub can bring their cases to a successful resolution. Assignments that include incorrect data are shown on the Error logs page only, because the Pega Process Fabric Hub omits them from the Interwoven Worklist.

  1. In the navigation pane of the Pega Process Fabric Hub, click Logs.
  2. Manage the log messages to get a better understanding of the issues:
    Analyze log errors
    1. In the row that contains the log message that you want to analyze, in the Content column, click Showy payload.
    2. Inspect the JSON.
For example: When a worklist to receive an assignment is unspecified in your application, the JSON includes the generic "assignToType":"WL" value instead of the "assignToType:"WorklistName" value.
    Filter log errors
Note: Filtering option does not apply to Type and Content columns.
    1. In the header of the column that you want to filter, click Open MenuClick to filter.
For example: Display error logs from a selected application only by clicking Click to filter in the Application column.
    2. In the dialog box, select the filters that you want to apply.
Tip: To save time, in the Search Text field, enter the filter, such as an application name. Entering text directly is useful when you have multiple filters, such as multiple application names.
    3. Click Apply.
  3. Fix the issue directly in the relevant application.
For example: The following figure shows a list of error logs that are grouped by an application that includes the issues:
