Searching and comparing plans

Make decisions on creating new benefit plans or updating existing plans in Pega Product Composer for Healthcare by using the data from compared plans.

Search and compare plans in PCS to determine the differences between selected plans. To search and compare plans:
  1. In the header of Dev Studio, click Launch PortalProduct Development or Product Manager.
  2. Click Plan search and compare.
  3. Specify the search fields.
    Special characters (like $, %) are not supported in the cost share fields. Values more than 9999999 are not supported in the cost share fields.

    The search fields are displayed as per the defined configuration. For more on configuring fields, see Configuring search properties.

  4. The following search fields are displayed by default:
    • Plan name
    • Insurance line
    • Market segment
    • Line of business
    • Coverage level
    • Effective date
    • End date
  5. Click Search.

    Note: If the search input is generic, only 10,000 records are displayed. Add search parameters to narrow your results to less than 10,000 records.
  6. In the Plan name column, select the check boxes for the plan names that you want to compare.

  7. To view the latest approved Summary of benefits and coverage (SBC) document, in the SBC column, click View.

    If no SBC documents are available, the SBC link is disabled.

  8. Click a plan name to view details about the plan. By default, the approved plan in the current system is opened.
  9. Click Add to compare list, and then click the plan name link to view the details about the plan.

    The plans are compared as per the flattened state of the plans. However, when you use the plan name link from the plan comparison view, the last-approved state of the plan is displayed. To avoid this data discrepancy, it is a best practice to enable the auto flattening for the plans. For more information, see how to auto flatten products and plans.

  10. To view the plans that are added to the compare list, click Compare list:
    1. Click the Delete icon to remove a plan from the compare list.
    2. Click Clear All to remove all the plans from the compare list, and then click Close.
  11. To sort the results as per the column values, click the column name.
  12. Click Start Comparison.

  13. To remove the plan from the compare list, click Remove plan from compare.
  14. To select another plan and determine the differences between the plans, click the Plan list.
  15. To view the most recent and approved Summary of Benefits and Coverage document click the SBC link. The SBC link is disabled if no SBC is available for the plan.
  16. View and compare the results.
