Step 2: Configuring networks and guardrails for your product template

Updated on September 10, 2021

In the product template, you define networks and guardrails that products and plans can inherit. By reusing existing information, you can save time during configuration. Network guardrails are applied when products are configured by using a product template.

Before you begin

Ensure that you entered the details for a product template. For additional information, see Step1: Entering details for your product template.

Procedure

  1. In the Network field, enter PPO In-network and select it from the list. Click Add Network.
  2. In the PCP required list, select No.
  3. In the Network field, enter PPO Out-of-network and select it from the list. Click Add Network.
  4. In the PCP required list, select No.
  5. In the Network guardrails section, click the Add a row icon
  6. In the Cost Share 1 list, select Deductible.
  7. In the Network 1 list, select PPO In-network.
  8. In the Expression list, select is less than.
  9. In the Cost Share 2 list, select Deductible.
  10. In the Network 2 list, select PPO Out-of-network.
You applied a rule that requires that the deductible for in-network is less than the deductible for out-of-network. When you build a product or plan by using the product template, this rule is enforced during the cost share selection process.
