Updating the application

To update your application, import the application file, and then complete additional procedures in this guide.

Before you begin: Ensure that you complete the prerequisites for this application update.

Perform the following steps to update your application:

  1. Upgrading Pega Customer Service
  2. Importing the application file

    The system data and rulesets for Pega Retail Advisor are loaded during this task.

  3. Installing hotfixes

    Pega Retail Advisor provides recent available hotfixes with the installation media. To import the hotfix, follow the installation instructions in each hotfix zip file.

  4. Optional: Enabling generic operator accounts for the Pega Retail Advisor sample application
  5. Setting the version number of your built-on application

    Based on your update type, you might need to set the version number of your built-on application. If you are performing a major update, for example, you are updating from 7.x to 8.x, you need to set the version number of your built-on application so that you can use the latest features in Pega Retail Advisor™.
