Changing report category

Updated on February 9, 2022

Arrange reports into purpose-based categories to help users find relevant reports more quickly.

You can set a report category to be either public or private. Private reports are in the My Reports folder, and are visible only to you, while everyone in your organization can view public reports. To make it as easy as possible for you (or others) to find the right report, you can arrange public reports into categories, such as:
  • Quality analysis
  • Open cases
  • Service-level performance
Before you begin: Ensure that your user account has at least one of the following access roles:
  • Admin
  • ReportAdmin
  • ReportWriter
For more information, see Access groups and roles in Pega Robot Manager.
What to do next: Depending on your business objectives, you can save a copy of a report to another category or move a report among public categories.

Copying a report to another category

Create a copy of a report and save it in another category. For example, create a private instance of a public report.

Perform this task to achieve the following goals:
  • Change the report category from private to public, or from public to private.
  • Copy a public or private report, and keep the original. For example, you can copy a public report to create a private version of that report.
  1. In the navigation pane of Pega Robot Manager, click AnalyticsReports.
  2. Click the report that you want to edit.
For example: To enable everyone in your organization to view a private report, select a report that is in the My Reports folder, as shown in the following figure:
Selecting a private report for editing
On the Reports landing page, you can select a private report in the My reports folder for editing.
  3. In the top-right corner, select ActionsSave as.
  4. In the Save report as modal dialog box, enter the new report title and description.
  5. In the Category field, select the new report category.
For example: You can save a private report to a public category, as shown in the following figure:
Saving a private report to a public category
On the Reports landing page, you can enable everyone in your organization to view a private report that you created by saving a copy of that report to a public category.
  6. Confirm your settings by clicking Submit.
Note: Saving a report copy as either private or public does not replace the original report. To ensure that no-one else can view a public report that you saved as private, you must delete the report. For more information, see Deleting reports.

Moving public reports to a different category

Stay up-to-date with your business scenarios and facilitate relaying information in your organization by moving a custom or default public report to a different category.

  1. In the navigation pane of Pega Robot Manager, click AnalyticsReports.
  2. Browse to a public report that you want to edit.
Tip: To find a public report, browse the reports on the All reports tab.
  3. Hover the mouse pointer over the report tile, then click the Gear icon, and then select Move.
  4. In the Move modal dialog box, select the new report category.
  5. Confirm your settings by clicking Submit.

You can conveniently move a public report to a different category through an options menu on the report tile.
