Configuring an operator ID for registering robots

Updated on December 20, 2022

Certain access privileges enable the registering of unattended robots in Pega Robot Manager. You must grant these access privileges to appropriate operator IDs.

Depending on your security policy and business requirements, you can either use an operator ID that already belongs to an individual or create an operator specifically for the purpose of registering unattended robots.

You can use a single registration operator ID across multiple robot virtual machines. In addition, to have more granular control over which work groups the robots can be associated to in Robot Manager, you can grant robot registration privileges to multiple operator IDs.

  1. Configure an Operator ID:

    Select an account
    1. In Dev Studio, click ConfigureOrg & SecurityOrganizationOperators.
    2. On the Operators tab, select an account that you want to enable to register robots.

Tip: To allow the Operator ID to register the robots, but without giving the account any access to the Robot Manager portal, you can associate the operator with an access group that is the equivalent to the sample PegaRobotManager:RPAServices access role.
For more information, see Managing access privileges.
  3. Click Save.
What to do next: Configure the Robot Manager decision tables with the details of the registration operator.
