Deleting work groups and assignment types

Updated on December 20, 2022

Keep your system updated by deleting work groups that are no longer needed. You can also delete unnecessary assignment types from a work group to prevent robots from pulling work from these assignment types.

Before you begin: When you delete a specific assignment type from a work group, ensure that this deletion will not affect the case. Note that, when you delete a work group, this also deletes all associated assignment types. Therefore, before deleting either an assignment type or a work group, you must ensure that:
  • No applicable assignment types are referenced in a case type. You must identify and remove any references to an assignment type in Dev Studio, as needed.
Caution: If you delete an assignment type that is referenced in a case type, this prevents the case from completing. Pega Robot Manager does not check for references to assignment types.
  • No applicable assignment types are running (and that no applicable assignments are in the queue). If applicable types are running, Pega Robot Manager displays an error message.
  • The applicable work group is not referenced in any robot schedules.
Caution: Pega Robot Manager does not check if the work group is referenced in any robot schedules.
Robot Manager allows you to delete assignment types and work groups from either landing pages or detail pages, depending on which location is most convenient.
