Pega Robot Manager as part of the Robotic Process Automation suite of applications
Pega Robot Manager is part of a set of tools that comprise Pega Robotic Automation, the system for automating tedious manual work to improve your productivity and efficiency.
Pega Robot Studio
Pega Robot Studio is a visual development environment that you can use to efficiently create either attended or unattended automations and projects. Pega Robot Studio provides a comprehensive environment for software development through easy and intuitive access to all the tools that you need for project design, debugging, and packaging.
For more information, see Pega Robot Studio.
Automation packages and package repositories
As an automation developer, when you are ready to deploy the automations that you have created, you bundle all related automations into an automation package, and publish the package to the Pega Package Server, or to a repository that is controlled by Robot Manager.
At the same time, the corresponding package metadata is published to Pega Robot Manager, where the robot operator assigns the package to a department, work group, or individual users, or individual robots.
Before automating a task (for example, calculating a customer credit score), a robot that resides on a user workstation must download the corresponding automation package and obtain the instructions on how to successfully complete the automation.
For more information, see Pega Package Server and Server Status page.
Pega Robot Runtime
Pega Robot Runtime is the client environment that runs the both attended and unattended automations.
You can make changes to the Pega Robot Runtime configuration remotely from Robot Manager. In this way, you can quickly adapt user machines and robot machines to meet ever-changing business objectives.
For more information, see Pega Robot Runtime.
Pega Robotic Automation Importer
Pega Robotic Automation Importer is an optional component that facilitates the use of automations in Pega Platform and the migration of automation packages between application versions.
Pega Robotic Automation Importer stores package metadata for use by Robot Manager. When you deploy automation packages to the Pega Package Server, the Pega Robotic Automation Importer automatically generates files that contain metadata, and publishes those files to the repository location that you configure.
For more information, see Pega Robotic Automation Importer component.
