Using Pega Robot Manager

Updated on December 20, 2022

Use Pega Robot Manager to: manage and deploy automation packages to both attended robotic desktop automation (RDA) and unattended robotic process automation (RPA); to monitor the performance, health, and throughput of your RPA robots; and to manage the life cycle of your RPA robots, including manually starting and stopping robots, and defining scheduled actions to enable more throughput when the workload is high.

You can also create and view reports on robot health, exceptions, and usage data.

  • Pega Robot Manager dashboard

The Pega Robot Manager dashboard is a centralized workspace that displays operational information about your robotic process automations and key performance indicators, such as the status of your robots or cases that have exceeded their service-level agreement (SLA).

  • Managing work groups and assignment types

You can use Pega Robot Manager to manage your work groups and assignment types in several ways.

  • Monitoring robot and assignment issues

Ensure that tasks are being completed as expected by monitoring for any ongoing issues with robots or their assignments.

  • Auto-balancing robot workload across work groups

Pega Robot Manager uses Auto-balancing to dynamically move robots between work groups to maximize robot efficiency and to ensure robotic work assignments are processed within SLAs.

  • Managing robots

You can start robots, stop robots, terminate robots, and move robots between work groups.

  • Scheduling robots

By setting schedules for robots, you reduce the amount of manual effort in managing your robots. In this way, robots can be stopped outside of working hours, or can be moved between work groups to provide assistance during known peak hours.

  • Automation package basics

To successfully automate a task, a robot must first load an automation package that contains the instructions necessary to run the automation.

  • Collaborating with Pega Robot Manager users

As a user of a Pega Robot Manager application, you can use the out-of-the-box Spaces feature to collaborate on any matter of interest. Spaces foster collaboration and improve productivity by providing a unified tool for sharing and developing ideas.

  • Assign to Robot Queue

You can define a case status with the Assign to Robot Queue: Setting case status based on robotic automation status smart shape.
