Adding a control to an existing automation

Updated on November 10, 2021

You can add or insert a control from the Toolbox or Palette to your existing automation. Within the Design Area, place the control on the line between objects.

  1. With your automation displayed, click the Toolbox or Palette tab to open it.
Use the Toolbox tab if the control doesn't exist in the automation. Use the Palette tab if the control type has been previously added.
  2. Find the control you want to add.
You can use the Search box to find a control.
  3. Drag the control to the place on the Design Area where it should go.
If there is an existing connection, drag the cursor to the line, until the line is highlighted (red).
    Insert control
  4. Release the control.Result: The control is placed at the location where it was dragged. You can then change the values of the control if necessary, by highlighting the control and changing its properties.
