Creating a project with the Create New option

You can create a project by using the Create new option to specify a name and location for your project. Robot Studio then creates a Globals section and an empty automation.

Your first step in creating a solution in Pega Robot Studio is to create a project. Projects are the containers for the elements of your solutions. which can the following items:

  • applications
  • automations
  • forms
  • text adapters
  • items from existing projects

Create new gives more control and flexibility to experienced users when creating a project.

  1. From the Start screen of Robot Studio, click Create new to create a new project.Result: The Create new dialog opens, as shown in the following figure.

  2. Enter the Project name and Location, and then click Create. Result: You have added a Globals container and an empty Automation to the project. Any object in the Globals container is available in automations in the project.
  3. Open the Add menu by clicking Add.
    To add a project element, first add it at the project level. You can then access the project element to define and use in Robot Studio.
    In a project, you can add the following elements:
    • Automation
    • Windows application
    • Universal Web application
    • Web application (Internet Explorer or Edge)
    • Text adapter
    • Windows form
    • Windows folder
    • Project items from existing projects
    After you create a project, you can build your solution.
