Browser support
To automate applications that run inside popular browsers, such as Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge, use Pega Browser Extension (PBE) .
PBE includes the extension support you need to automate applications running under Chrome or Edge. PBE is a separate, installable component, similar to Pega RPA Service and Pega Synchronization Engine, and is shipped with all Pega Robotic Automation versions.
Because PBE is a separate, installable component, you can update it without having to update Robot Studio and Robot Runtime.
In almost all cases, PBE is backward compatible with earlier, deployed automation packages and does require not require a new version of Robot Studio or Robot Runtime. For information on exceptions, see Pega Browser Extension FAQ.
