Citrix support

Updated on October 19, 2022

Create automations that run in a Citrix environment, by using Pega Robot Studio.

By using custom Citrix contexts within Robot Studio solutions, you can integrate applications that run on the Citrix server with those that run on Citrix client machines. In Robot Studio, you use the Context project item to designate the applications and other project items to launch from the Citrix server.

Target applications can reside entirely on the Citrix server or you can distribute them between the server and clients. The following example shows a typical setup.

Sample Citrix setup
A sample Citrix configuration that shows the Citrix server and Citrix clients.

To develop solutions for a Citrix environment, you should be familiar with a Citrix server application setup and using Robot Studio to create solutions. You should also be familiar with configuring and deploying Robot Studio solutions.

Note: See also the Pega Academy course, Robotic Solution Development for Citrix.

  • Citrix design considerations

When you develop projects that have applications and automations on that run on multiple, different environments, install Robot Studio on each environment to ensure that you can interrogate, develop, and test the applications and automations that your project requires.

  • Configure Citrix contexts

To develop automations in a Citrix server environment and to then run those automations in a Citrix client environment, there are several configuration tasks that you must perform to define project contexts within Citrix.
