Configure robots to work with BeyondTrust

Updated on October 19, 2022

Prepare robots for integration with BeyondTrust and to store shared secrets by editing the Pega Robotic Automation configuration files.

To configure a robot, you make changes in the following configuration files:

  • CommonConfig.xml — This configuration file contains information that is required to connect to Robot Manager and external credential providers. In this file, you modify the RobotManager and CredentialManager elements to integrate Pega Robotic Automation with BeyondTrust.
  • CredentialManagerConfig.xml — This configuration file tells BeyondTrust how to locate stored credentials. You can directly map (hard-code) credentials or define credentials using replaceable system parameters that are evaluated at the time of the request.

Note: Both files are located in the C:\ProgramData\Pegasystems folder on each client computer. Prepare a master copy of each configuration file and distribute those files to each computer. Use the CredeMgrUI.exe utility to store the shared secrets.
