Pega Robotic Automation release notes 22.1
The release notes contain important information you should know before you install
Pega RPA version 22.1. Before you install this release, familiarize
yourself with all of the changes and resolved issues listed in this document. Pega RPA Version 22.1 has been redesigned completely, with a
proprietary IDE that removes the need for Visual Studio and streamlines the process of
creating automations. Testing has been greatly enhanced, and can take place directly
from the Automation Surface in Pega Robot Studio. You can convert 19.1 projects to v22.1. For more information, see Migrating solutions from 19.1 to 22.1. However, you should not convert projects
or automations created in the v21.1 Preview releases (Preview 1 or 2). As these releases
were not complete products, you would be likely to encounter issues with converted
projects, which are not supported. For more information, see the following table of links: We welcome your feedback and questions about the Pega Robot Studio
version 22.1 release. The good ideas and feedback you give us about this release will be
considered for incorporation into future builds. Do not open Pega Support tickets for feedback; instead, use the Be as descriptive as possible to help our representatives better respond to
your question or comment. The Product and Product
Capability fields are completed for you, and the remaining
fields are optional. Pega has updated and improved our training offerings for Pega RPA version 22.1. For more information, see https://academy.pega.com/mission/robotics-system-architect/v3 The Pega Browser Extension (PBE) component, included in all Pega Robot Studio and Pega Robot
Runtime version 22.1 builds, ensures that the Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge
browser extensions comply with the Chromium Project Manifest V3 specification. The Pega Browser Extension is a stand-alone component of Pega RPA,
just like Pega RPA Service and Pega Native Foundation. With
this component, you can automate applications that run in Chrome and Edge by using the
Universal Web Adapter. PBE includes the extension and the native messaging host. The
native messaging host transmits communications between the browser and Robot Runtime or Robot Studio. For more information, see PBE frequently asked questions. The Pega Package Server and the local Runtime REST service are no longer
available in Pega RPA. You can use Pega Robot Manager to store the automation packages that you
receive from Pega Robot Studio developers. Using Robot Manager, there is one less application to install,
configure, and learn. The local Runtime REST service is no longer needed because of infrastructure changes to
the way we handle certificates in Robot Studio version 22.1.
